WBC PRESIDENT HAS BEEN AWARDED HONORARY DOCTORATE


June 30th, 2008.

The American Sports University of San Bernardino, California awarded our President, Jose Sulaiman Chagnon, an Honorary Doctorate on Humane Letters, last June 27th, in a ceremony that was massively attended and, without a doubt, will be remembered for several concepts as one of the most emotional ever seen on that Campus.

I would like to ask you to please accept the WBC´s deepest congratulations for your initiative extended to the Medical Board of the Japan Boxing Commission, for the quarterly medical clinics presented by the boxing physicians especially to Dr. Youichiro Nunaka, for the excellent clinic on safety, and ways of prevention, as well as to Dr., Joji Otsuki stating the need of round reduction, given to more than 100 trainers, managers, and other members of the boxing community, hoping that this would be the case in every country of the world.
    
We are very proud of all of them and of yourself for the exemplary safety instructional plan that you are carrying out very successfully.

MOURNING FOR TRAGEDY IN CHINA


The WBC representing 164 countries of the world joins the world in mourning for the horrible tragedy of one of the worst earthquake in the last 100 years, which has killed so many people in China.

The WBC will offer a special homage to all those suffering families, during the opening ceremony of our Annual Convention on November the 2nd in Chengdu, China.

Hurricane Wilma , the strongest ever, remained stationary circling the paradisiacal Mexican island of Cancun for 60 full hours , creating a devastation as never before and leaving thousands of human beings in starvation and danger , only about a year of having seen the WBC go into bankruptcy also because of a devastating court ruling that I will never
understand.
