The World Boxing Council regrets to inform the passing away yesterday of Dr. Dierxks , chief of the medical Commission of the Belgian Boxing Federation and an executive of the WBC Medical Board . 

    Dr. Dierxks was highly respected for his lifetime devotion to safety in boxing, and for his active participation during the recent II World Medical Congress organized by the WBC, with the participation of boxing doctor from 89 countries.

            The President of the WBC José Sulaimán , México, informed that he was going to propose to the WBC General Assembly during the celebration of the 46th annual world convention of the WBC, to be held in Chengdu, China, the immediate implementation of a program to have all professional boxers holding  WBC fights for Its Regional or World title bouts , the opening of a fiduciary savings program so that boxers would save at least 5% of their income, with the additional of an equal donation by the promoters of the cards, same program to be recommended to all the 164 National Boxing Federations affiliated to the WBC , on all purse incomes of $ 100,000 U.S. dollars or less , as well as a top of the line Advisory Financial Committee for all those earning above that amount.

 The WBC will start with this recommendation on the coming title defense By the Featherweight World Champion Jorge Linares to be held in Chetumal, Cancun, Mexico, on may 31st, coming.

       President Sulaimán will also try to find an agreement with promoters to hold a big world titles promotion, so that there will be an important income to raise the fund for retired boxers that the WBC has and from which the organization helps several ex boxers around the world.
