Caroline Dubois will face Maira Moneo for the WBC interim lightweight title this Saturday, August 3 at Oakwell Stadium in Barnsley, United Kingdom, live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and Ireland and Peacock in the US.
Dubois’ unbeaten streak includes a convincing victory over Magali Rodriguez in September 2023 and then defeating Miranda Reyes in February.
To make a dream fight against Katie Taylor a reality, Dubois must first overcome Moneo (14-1, 3 KO), and snatch the WBC interim lightweight title from her.
Known as ‘La Panterita’, 31-year-old Uruguayan Moneo has faced top-level opponents. She has one win over former two-division world champion Erica Anabella Farias and the only blemish on her record is the result of a disqualification in a 2020 fight with Yanina del Carmen Lescano, due to a clash of heads.
This Friday they passed the official weigh-in for the fight, registering 135 pounds.
